The people of Al-Hijr denied Our apostles; 80 And We gave them Our signs, and they remained averse to them. 81 They hewed their dwellings out of the mountains in safety. 82 and so the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at early morn, 83 And what they earned did not avail them. 84 AND [remember:] We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them without [an inner] truth; but, behold, the Hour [when this will become clear to all] is indeed yet to come. Hence, forgive [men's failings] with fair forbearance: 85 Surely your Lord is the Creator and knows (everything). 86 We have indeed bestowed on you the seven oft-repeated verses and the Great Qur'an. 87 So covet not things We have bestowed on a portion of them to enjoy, and do not grieve for them, and protect those who believe; 88 and say: "Behold, I am indeed the plain warner [promised by God]! 89 even as We had sent warning to those who had divided their religion into fragments; 90 Those who broke the Word of Allah into several parts. (Those who broke the Torah / Bible or changed its text – or those who called the Qur’an a fabrication / poetry.) 91 So by your Lord, We will surely question them all 92 About all what they used to do. 93 Therefore expound openly what thou art commanded, and turn away from those who join false gods with Allah. 94 Truly! We will suffice you against the scoffers. 95 Those who adopt, with Allah, another god: but soon will they come to know. 96 And well do We know that thy bosom is constricted by the [blasphemous] things that they say: 97 So glorify the praises of your Lord and be of those who prostrate themselves (to Him). 98 And keep worshipping your Lord, till death* comes to you. (* The certainty.) 99
