In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those who range themselves in ranks, 1 By the angels driving away. 2 And those who recite the Reminder, 3 surely, your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth, and of what between them is Lord of the Easts. 5 Verily! We have adorned the near heaven with the stars (for beauty). 6 and guarded it against all rebellious devils: 7 [So] they may not listen to the exalted assembly [of angels] and are pelted from every side, 8 Being driven off, and for them is a perpetual chastisement, 9 except such as snatches a fragment, and he is pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Then ask them (i.e. these polytheists, O Muhammad SAW): "Are they stronger as creation, or those (others like the heavens and the earth and the mountains, etc.) whom We have created?" Verily, We created them of a sticky clay. 11 No, you marvel, while they scoff. 12 And, when they are admonished, pay no heed,- 13 When they are shown a sign, they scoff at it 14 And they say, “This is nothing but clear magic.” 15 They say, "Shall we be brought to life again after we die and turn into dust and bones? 16 What, and our forefathers, the ancients' 17 Say: 'Yes, but worthless' 18 Then it will be a single (compelling) cry; and behold, they will begin to see! 19 and will say: "Oh, woe unto us! This is the Day of Judgment!" 20 This is the Day of Judgment in which you disbelieved. 21

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
