Hizb 46
< random >
And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers. 139 He fled to the overloaded ship. 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was among the losers, 141 and the fish swallowed him while he was blaming himself. 142 And had he not been one of those who glorify (Allah) 143 He would have stayed in its belly till the day the dead are raised. 144 ۞ But We threw him on a wide bare tract of land while he was ill; 145 and caused a creeping plant to grow over him [out of the barren soil]. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand, rather they exceeded. 147 and [this time] they believed [in him] and so We allowed them to enjoy their life during the time allotted to them? 148 Now ask them their opinion: Is it that thy Lord has (only) daughters, and they have sons?- 149 Or that We created the angels female, and they are witnesses (thereto)? 150 Pay heed! It is their slander that they say. 151 That “Allah has offspring”; and indeed, surely, they are liars. 152 (And again of their falsehood): He hath preferred daughters to sons. 153 What is [wrong] with you? How do you make judgement? 154 Then will you not be reminded? 155 Or, is there for you a clear warranty 156 Bring your book if what you say is true. 157 They claim that He has kinship with the jinn, yet the jinn themselves know that they will be produced before Him [for judgement]. 158 Hallowed be Allah from that which they ascribe to Him. 159 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 160 You and whatever you worship 161 cannot mislead anyone 162 except those who are doomed to enter hell. 163 (Those ranged in ranks say): "Not one of us but has a place appointed; 164 We are surely those who are arranged in ranks. 165 "And we are verily those who declare (Allah's) glory!" 166 And they surely were wont to say: 167 "If we had a message from [those of] the former peoples, 168 then were we God's sincere servants.' 169 But (now that the Qur'an has come), they reject it: But soon will they know! 170 And surely Our word has gone forth respecting Our servants, the messengers: 171 that they shall certainly be succoured, 172 And most surely Our host alone shall be the victorious ones. 173 So turn thou from them for a while, 174 and watch them. They, too, will watch. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our punishment? 176 Then when it descendeth unto them face to face, a hapless morn that shall be for those who were warned. 177 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from them, 178 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 179 Glory be to thy Lord, the Lord of Glory, above that they describe! 180 And peace upon the messengers. 181 And all praise unto Allah the Lord of the worlds. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
