Q (Qaaf)
45 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat) before The Town (Al-Balad)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Qaf. [These letters (Qaf, etc.) are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. By the Glorious Quran. 1 Nay! they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves, so the unbelievers say: This is a wonderful thing: 2 What! when we are dead and have become dust? That is afar (from probable) return. 3 We know what the earth diminishes of them; with Us is a book recording. 4 They gave the lie to the Truth when it came to them. So they are now in a state of great perplexity. 5 Have they not looked at the sky above them, how We have fashioned and adorned it, and it has no flaw? 6 We spread out the earth and set upon it firm mountains, and We cause every delightful thing to grow in it 7 An insight and an admonition for every bondman penitent. 8 And We sent down the auspicious water from the sky, therefore producing gardens with it, and the grain that is harvested. 9 And tall (and stately) palm-trees, with shoots of fruit-stalks, piled one over another;- 10 a provision for the servants, and thereby We revived a land that was dead. Even so is the coming forth. 11 In the past Noah's people, and the people of Rass and Thamud gave the lie (to Messengers), 12 And 'Aad and Pharaoh and the brothers of Lot 13 the men of the Thicket, the people of Tubba'. Every one cried lies to the Messengers, and My threat came true. 14 Were We then fatigued with the first creation? Yet are they in doubt with regard to a new creation. 15

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
