Seest thou one who turns back, 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Hath he not been told of that which is in the writs of Musa. 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 And He who ordains death and life; 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 And that [incumbent] upon Him is the next creation 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 And that it is He Who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 Then covered them with that which covered them. 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 Will you, then, wonder at this? 59 Why do you laugh rather than weep? 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. ۩ 62
