The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 He created the human being 3 Taught him the mode of expression. 4 The sun and the moon are scheduled. 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 In order that you may not transgress (due) balance. 8 But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof. 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 Which of the bounties of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 He is the Lord of the East and West through all seasons. 17 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 18 He has made the two oceans meet each other, 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 21 Out of them come Pearls and Coral: 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 To Him only belong the sailing ships, raised above the sea like hills. 24 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 25
