Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Calamity! 1 What is the concrete reality? 2 And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is? 3 Thamood and Aad belied the Clatterer. 4 So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast]. 5 And the 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious Wind, exceedingly violent; 6 violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. 7 Can you see any of their survivors? 8 And Firon and those before him and the overthrown cities continuously committed sins. 9 When they disobeyed the apostle of their Lord He seized them with an overwhelming punishment. 10 But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high, 11 So that We may make it a reminder to you, and that the retaining ear might retain it. 12 So when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 And the earth and mountains heaved and crushed to powder with one levelling blow, 14 then, on that day, the Terror shall come to pass, 15 and heaven shall be split, for upon that day it shall be very frail, 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight angels will, that Day, bear the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that Day you shall be brought to judgment: not [even] the most hidden of your deeds will remain hidden. 18 Now as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, he will exclaim: "Come you all!" Read this my record! 19 Behold, I did know that [one day] I would have to face my account! 20 Then he shall be in a life well-pleasing 21 in a lofty Garden, 22 Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. 23 We shall say to him, "Eat and drink joyfully as a reward for the good deeds you did in days gone by." 24 But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record 25 and not known my reckoning! 26 Oh! Would that the death that came to me in the world had made an end of me! 27 Of no avail to me is all that I have [ever] possessed, 28 and our belief has destroyed us". 29 (It will be said): Take him and fetter him 30 Then throw him in the blazing Fire. 31 and then thrust him into a chain [of other sinners like him - a chain] the length whereof is seventy cubits: 32 for he did not believe in Almighty God, 33 And urged not on the feeding of Al-Miskin (the poor), 34 That is why he has no friend today, 35 and no food except pus 36 Which none but the wrongdoers eat. 37
