The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ What do they quarrel about? 1 They quarrel about the great news 2 whereon they are at variance. 3 Indeed they will come to know soon; 4 And once again: Nay, but in time they will come to understand! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 and gave you repose in sleep, 9 and made the night [its] cloak 10 And made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We built above you seven strong ones, 12 And We made a shining lamp, 13 And from the wind-driven clouds We send down waters pouring in abundance, 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 And dense gardens. 16 Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement. 17 the Day when the Trumpet shall be blown, and you will come forth in multitudes; 18 And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings, 19 and when the mountains are made to vanish as if they had been a mirage. 20 Hell will lie in wait (for its prey). 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 In which they will remain for ages [unending]. 23 tasting neither coolness nor any drink 24 except boiling water and pus, 25 A fitting recompense (for them). 26 They indeed hoped not for a reckoning, 27 And called Our communications a lie, giving the lie (to the truth). 28 Everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 Taste therefore. We shall not increase you in aught but torment. 30
