The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 2 When the earth is stretched out taut 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 And attentive to her Lord in fear! 5 [then,] O man - thou [that] hast, verily, been toiling towards thy Sustainer in painful toil - then shalt thou meet Him! 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 He will cry out for destruction 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 and had thought that they would never be brought back to life again. 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, 16 and the night and what it envelops 17 And [by] the moon when it becomes full 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 But God knows what they harbour in their breasts. 23 So announce to them a Penalty Grievous, 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
