T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ O MAN! 1 We did not reveal the Qur'an to you to cause you distress; 2 Nay, it is a reminder to him who fears: 3 It is a revelation from the Creator of the earth and the high heavens. 4 (Allah) Most Gracious is firmly established on the throne (of authority). 5 His is whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever on the earth and whatsoever is in between and whatsoever is underneath the earth. 6 If you speak loudly; He has indeed knowledge of the secret and the hidden. 7 God: There is no god but He. To Him belong the attributes most beautiful. 8 Has the story of Moses reached you? 9 When he saw a fire and said to his family, "Stay here; indeed, I have perceived a fire; perhaps I can bring you a torch or find at the fire some guidance." 10 When he came to it, a voice cried, 'Moses, 11 Verily I! I am thy Lord: so take off thy shoes; verily thou art into the holy valley, Tuwa. 12 “And I have chosen you, therefore listen carefully to what is divinely revealed to you.” 13 Verily I am God; there is no god but I; therefore serve Me, and perform the prayer of My remembrance. 14 Indeed, the Hour is coming - I almost conceal it - so that every soul may be recompensed according to that for which it strives. 15 So do not let one avert you from it who does not believe in it and follows his desire, for you [then] would perish. 16 And what is that in your right hand, O Moses?" 17 He said: This is my staff: I recline on it and I beat the leaves with it to make them fall upon my sheep, and I have other uses for it. 18 (Allah) said: "Cast it down, O Musa (Moses)!" 19 So he cast it down, and lo! it was a serpent, gliding. 20 Said He, 'Take it, and fear not; We will restore it to its first state. 21 "Now - as another Sign - place your hand under your arm and it will come out sheer white without harm (or stain). 22 So We would show thee some of Our greatest signs. 23 Go to Firon, surely he has exceeded all limits. 24
