And [mention] when your Lord called Moses, [saying], "Go to the wrongdoing people - 10 The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Allah?" 11 He said: my Lord! verily I fear they shall belie me. 12 And my breast straiteneth, and my tongue moveth not quickly: so send for Harun. 13 And they have a crime against me, so I fear that they shall slay me. 14 He said: Nay, verily. So go ye twain with Our tokens. Lo! We shall be with you, Hearing. 15 "And when you both come to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), say: 'We are the Messengers of the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 16 Send forth with us the Children of Israel' 17 Pharaoh said: "Did we not bring you up among us when you were a child? 18 Yet you committed the deed you did, surely you are one of the ingrates." 19 [Moses] said, "I did it, then, while I was of those astray. 20 "So I fled from you (all) when I feared you; but my Lord has (since) invested me with judgment (and wisdom) and appointed me as one of the messengers. 21 "And this is the past favour with which you reproach me, that you have enslaved the Children of Israel." 22 Pharaoh said: 'And what is the Lord of the Worlds' 23 Moses said, "Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if only you would be convinced." 24 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said to those around: "Do you not hear (what he says)?" 25 He said: your Lord and the Lord of your ancient fathers. 26 Fir'awn said: verily your apostle who hath been sent unto you is mad. 27 (Moses) said: "The Lord of the East and the Lord of the West and all that lies between them, if you have sense." 28 Said he, 'If thou takest a god other than me, I shall surely make thee one of the imprisoned.' 29 He said, 'What, even though I brought thee something so manifest?' 30 Pharaoh said, "Show it then, if you are telling the truth!" 31 Thereupon [Moses] threw down his staff - and lo! it was a serpent, plainly visible; 32 And he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to all beholders! 33
