The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 When whither go ye? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
