The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER the sky full of great constellations, 1 by the promised day, 2 by the Witness and the witnessed, 3 Perish the fellows of the ditch, 4 Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel, 5 As they sat around it 6 to watch what they were doing to the believers, 7 And they persecuted them for naught save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praiseworthy 8 Him, Whose is the dominion of heavens and the earth. And Allah is over everything a Witness. 9 Surely (as for) those who persecute the believing men and the believing women, then do not repent, they shall have the chastisement of hell, and they shall have the chastisement of burning. 10 As for those who believed and acted righteously, theirs shall be Gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great triumph. 11 Lo! the punishment of thy Lord is stern. 12 Indeed, it is He who originates [creation] and repeats. 13 and He is the All-forgiving, the All-loving, 14 – the Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 and the Most Effective in His decision. 16 Has the story of the hordes 17 Of Pharaoh and the Thamud? 18 Yet those who deny the truth persist in denial. 19 However, God encompassed their activities. 20 Nay, but it is a glorious Koran, 21 in a guarded tablet. 22
