3/4 Hizb 33
< random >
Remember Noah when he called to Us before this. We heard him and saved him and those with him from great distress; 76 and We helped him against the people who cried lies to Our signs; surely they were an evil people, so We drowned them all together. 77 Tell of David and Solomon who both passed judgement on the field into which some people's sheep had strayed [and grazed] at night. We bore witness to their judgement. 78 We gave Solomon the right understanding of the matter, and We bestowed wisdom and knowledge on both of them. We caused the mountains and the birds to celebrate Our praises along with David. We had the power to do this -- 79 We taught him the art of making coats of mail so that you could protect yourselves during a war. Will you then give thanks? 80 And to Sulaiman (Solomon) (We subjected) the wind strongly raging, running by his command towards the land which We had blessed. And of everything We are the All-Knower. 81 and of the Satans some dived for him and did other work besides; and We were watching over them. 82 ۞ And (remember) Ayub (Job), when he cried to his Lord: "Verily, distress has seized me, and You are the Most Merciful of all those who show mercy." 83 "We answered his prayer, relieved him from his hardships, brought his family (back to him) and gave him twice as much property as that (which was destroyed). It was a mercy from Us and a reminder for the worshippers. 84 And [mention] Ishmael and Idrees and Dhul-Kifl; all were of the patient. 85 We admitted them to Our Mercy, for they were of the righteous. 86 And (mention) Dhu'n-Nun, when he went off in anger and deemed that We had no power over him, but he cried out in the darkness, saying: There is no Allah save Thee. Be Thou Glorified! Lo! I have been a wrong-doer. 87 So We answered him, and delivered him out of grief; even so do, We deliver the believers. 88 And Zakariya, when he cried to his Lord: O my Lord leave me not alone; and Thou art the best of inheritors. 89 So We answered him, and We bestowed on him Yahya and We made sound for him his spouse. Verily they were wont to vie with one another in good deeds and to call upon us with longing and dread, and they were ever before us meek. 90 And she (Mary) who guarded her virginity. We breathed into her of Our spirit (Gabriel), and made her and her son a sign for the worlds. 91 Verily, this brotherhood of yours is a single brotherhood, and I am your Lord and Cherisher: therefore serve Me (and no other). 92 But men have torn their unity wide asunder, [forgetting that] unto Us they all are bound to return. 93
