Then, when the Messengers (the angels) came unto the family of Lout (Lot). 61 He said, "Indeed, you are people unknown." 62 They said: "Nay, we have come to you with that (torment) which they have been doubting. 63 And we have brought unto thee the truth, and verily we say sooth. 64 So set out thou with thy house hold in a portion of the night, and follow thou their backs, and let not one of you look back, and pass whither ye are commanded. 65 And We communicated to him the decree that by the morning those people will be totally destroyed. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 67 and he told them, "These are my guests, so do not disgrace me. 68 Have fear of God and do not humiliate me". 69 They said, "Have we not forbidden you from [protecting] people?" 70 He said, “These women of our tribe are my daughters, if you have to.” 71 [But the angels spoke thus:] "As thou livest, [O Lot, they will not listen to thee:] behold, in their delirium [of lust] they are but blindly stumbling to and fro!" 72 An explosion struck them at sunrise. 73 And We turned (the towns of Sodom in Palestine) upside down and rained down on them stones of baked clay. 74 Behold! in this are Signs for those who by tokens do understand. 75 And indeed that township is upon a road still in use. 76 Most surely there is a sign in this for the believers. 77 The dwellers of the Thicket were harmdoers. 78 and We took vengeance on them. The two of them were upon a roadway manifest. 79
