The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By those who set the ranks in battle order 1 and restraining [from evil] by a call to restraint, 2 and those who recite Our revelations, 3 Verily your God is One, 4 the Lord of the heavens and the earth and of whatever lies between the two, the Lord of the Easts. 5 He decked the nearest heavens with ornaments of stars, 6 And as protection against every rebellious devil 7 [so that] they [who seek to learn the unknowable] should not be able to overhear the host on high, but shall be repelled from all sides, 8 With a driving fusillade, and theirs shall be a torment perpetual; 9 but if anyone does succeed in snatching a glimpse [of such knowledge,] he is [henceforth] pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Then inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Are they a stronger [or more difficult] creation or those [others] We have created?" Indeed, We created men from sticky clay. 11 (Muhammad), you will be surprised that they still mock (God's revelations). 12 and when they are reminded [of the truth,] they refuse to take it to heart; 13 And, when they see a Sign, turn it to mockery, 14 And they say: "This is nothing but evident magic! 15 When we have become dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then verily be raised? 16 What, and our fathers, the ancients?' 17 Say thou: and verily ye; shall then be despicable. 18 There will be but a single blast and then their eyes will open. 19 And say: Ah, woe for us! This is the Day of Judgment. 20 (A voice will say,) "This is the Day of Sorting Out, whose truth ye (once) denied!" 21
