The Wall (Al-Hujuraat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Believers do not advance before Allah and His Messenger. Fear Allah. Allah is the Hearer, the Knower. 1 O believers, raise not your voices above the Prophet's voice, and be not loud in your speech to him, as you are loud one to another, lest your works fail while you are not aware. 2 Those who lower their voice in the presence of the Messenger of Allah are those whose hearts Allah has tested for warding off (evil). They shall receive forgiveness and a great wage. 3 Those who shout out to thee from without the inner apartments - most of them lack understanding. 4 for, if they had the patience [to wait] until thou come forth to them [of thine own accord,] it would be for their own good. Still, God is much forgiving, a dispenser of grace. 5 Believers, when an ungodly person brings to you a piece of news, carefully ascertain its truth, lest you should hurt a people unwittingly and thereafter repent at what you did. 6 And know that God's Apostle is among you: were he to comply with your inclinations in each and every case, you would be bound to come to harm [as a community]. But as it is, God has caused [your] faith to be dear to you, and has given it beauty in your hearts, and has made hateful to you all denial of the truth, and all iniquity, and all rebellion [against what is good]. Such indeed are they who follow the right course 7 (It is) a bounty and a grace from Allah; and Allah is Knower, Wise. 8 And if two factions among the believers should fight, then make settlement between the two. But if one of them oppresses the other, then fight against the one that oppresses until it returns to the ordinance of Allah. And if it returns, then make settlement between them in justice and act justly. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly. 9 All believers are but brethren. Hence, [whenever they are at odds,] make peace between your two brethren, and remain conscious of God, so that you might be graced with His mercy. 10
