Has the story of Abraham's honoured guests come to you? 24 When they came to him, they said: "Peace." He answered: "Peace." They were a people he did not recognise. 25 Then he went to his family and came with a fat [roasted] calf 26 And placed it near them; he said, "Will you not eat?" 27 And he felt from them apprehension. They said, "Fear not," and gave him good tidings of a learned boy. 28 His wife came forward, crying and beating her face, saying, "I am an old barren woman!" 29 'Such, says your Lord' they replied: 'He is the Wise, the Knower' 30 ۞ Abraham said: “Envoys (of Allah), what is your errand?” 31 They replied, "We have been sent to a sinful people 32 That we may send down upon them stone of clay, 33 marked by your Lord upon those who go beyond the limits.” 34 So We brought out from therein the believers. 35 And We found not therein more than one house of the Muslims. 36 And therein We left a sign to those who fear the painful chastisement. 37 And in Moses (was another Sign): Behold, We sent him to Pharaoh, with authority manifest. 38 But he turned away with his forces and said: A magician or a mad man. 39 We seized him and his army and threw them into the sea. He himself was to be blamed. 40 And in 'Ad (there is also a sign) when We sent against them the barren wind; 41 It left nothing whatever that it came up against, but reduced it to ruin and rottenness. 42 And in Thamud (there is also a sign), when they were told: "Enjoy yourselves for a while!" 43 But they revolted against the commandment of their Lord, so the rumbling overtook them while they saw. 44 So they were neither able to stand up, nor were they able to take revenge. 45 [We destroyed] the people of Noah before them. They were certainly a sinful people. 46
