Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 But when the sight is dazed 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
