Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 excusing or warning, 6 Indeed what you are promised, will surely befall. 7 So when the stars are put out, 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 and place it in a secure place 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 Seeming like yellow camels. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
