The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 then he mustered 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
