The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High, 1 Who creates and proportions, 2 and who determines the nature [of all that exists,] and thereupon guides it [towards its fulfilment,] 3 who brings forth green pasture, 4 Then made it dry and dark. 5 We shall make thee read (O Muhammad) so that thou shalt not forget 6 Save that which Allah willeth. Lo! He knoweth the disclosed and that which still is hidden; 7 We shall take you slowly towards ease. 8 Therefore remind, if the Reminder profits, 9 Soon whoever fears will heed advice. 10 But it will be avoided by those most unfortunate ones, 11 [He] who will [enter and] burn in the greatest Fire, 12 wherein they will neither live nor die. 13 But those will prosper who purify themselves, 14 And magnifies the name of his Lord and prays. 15 Nay, you prefer the life of this world; 16 Whereas the Hereafter is better and everlasting. 17 Surely this is in the ancient scrolls, 18 The scriptures of Abraham and Moses. 19
