The Town (Al-Balad)
20 verses, revealed in Mecca after Q (Qaaf) before The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I CALL THIS earth to witness -- 1 And thou art an indweller of this city - 2 by the begetter, and that he begot, 3 We created the human in fatigue. 4 Deemest he that none will overpower him? 5 saying, 'I have consumed wealth abundant'? 6 Does man think that no one saw him? 7 Have We not given him two eyes, 8 a tongue, and two lips? 9 And guide him to the parting of the mountain ways? 10 Yet, he has not entered into Aqaba 11 And what can make you know what is [breaking through] the difficult pass? 12 (It is:) freeing the bondman; 13 Or the feeding on a day of hunger. 14 An orphan near of kin, 15 Or to the poor man lying in the dust. 16 And to be of those who believe, and urge upon one another to persevere, and urge upon each other to be kind. 17 These are the fellows of the righthand. 18 But they who disbelieved in Our signs - those are the companions of the left. 19 and the Fire will close in on them. 20
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

Notes and Instructions
ColorfulQuran.com displays pages in one of three Arabic fonts. Each may appear with a one-third chance, adding more diversity to the already diverse colors. And the words remain unchanged forever. ColorfulQuran.com will have more beautiful fonts soon, God willing.
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
