The Night (Al-Layl)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 And the day when it shines in brightness, 2 and by that (Power) which created the male and female, 3 O men, you truly strive towards the most diverse ends! 4 Then as for him who giveths and feareth Him. 5 and confirms the reward most fair, 6 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Bliss. 7 As for him who was a miser and behaved with aversion (to Allah), 8 and have no faith in receiving any reward (from God). 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 nor will his wealth profit him when he falls [into the pit]. 11 Lo! Ours it is (to give) the guidance 12 And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former. 13 So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. 14 None shall enter it save the most wretched, 15 The one who denied and turned away. 16 and from which the cautious shall be distanced. 17 even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself 18 And is under no one's obligation to return his favour, 19 He desires only to please his Lord, the Supreme. 20 And presently he shall become well pleased. 21
