Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

May both the hands of Abu Lahab be destroyed – and they are destroyed! 1 His property and worldly gains will be of no help to him. 2 [In the life to come] he shall have to endure a fire fiercely glowing; 3 and his wife, laden with firewood 4 A rope made from palm fibre around her neck! 5

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
