A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Alif-Lam-Mim-Sad. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. 1 This is a Book sent down toward thee, so let there be no straitness in thy breast therefor, that thou mayest warn thereby! and this is an admonition unto the believers. 2 Follow, [O mankind], what has been revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow other than Him any allies. Little do you remember. 3 And how many a [rebellious] community have We destroyed, with Our punishment coming upon it by night, or while they were resting at noontide! 4 When (thus) Our punishment took them, no cry did they utter but this: "Indeed we did wrong." 5 Then We will surely question those to whom [a message] was sent, and We will surely question the messengers. 6 With knowledge We will narrate to them, for We are never absent. 7 The weighing on that day is the true (weighing). As for those whose scale is heavy, they are the successful. 8 And those whose scales are light - they are the ones who will lose themselves for what injustice they were doing toward Our verses. 9 And We have certainly established you upon the earth and made for you therein ways of livelihood. Little are you grateful. 10
