The people of Noah [too] gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 105 When their brother Noah said to them: "Will you not take heed? 106 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 107 So be fearful of God and listen to me. 108 For this I ask of you no wage, for my wage falls only on the Lord of the Worlds. 109 Have fear of God and obey me." 110 ۞ They said, 'Shall we believe thee, whom the vilest follow?' 111 He said: And what knowledge have I of what they may have been doing (in the past)? 112 Their reckoning rests with none but my Sustainer: if you could but understand [this]! 113 Hence, I shall not drive away [any of] those [who profess to be] believers; 114 I am only a plain warner." 115 They said: If thou cease not, O Noah, thou wilt surely be among those stoned (to death). 116 He said: "O my Lord! truly my people have rejected me. 117 hence, lay Thou wide open the truth between me and them, and save me and those of the believers who are with me!" 118 And We saved him and those with him in the laden ship. 119 and drowned the rest. 120 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 121 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 122
