The companions of the thicket denied the messengers 176 when their brother Shu'ayb said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 177 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 178 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 179 And I ask of you no wage for it; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure and do not diminish the goods of people, 181 Weigh with correct scales: 182 And do not deprive people of their due and do not commit abuse on earth, spreading corruption. 183 and have fear of Him Who created you and the earlier generations." 184 They said, 'Thou art merely one of those that are bewitched; 185 You are nothing but a man like us, and we think you are a liar. 186 Cause, then, fragments of the sky to fall down upon us, if thou art a man of truth!" 187 He said, “My Lord is Well Aware of what you do.” 188 They rejected him and then the torment of the gloomy day struck them. It was certainly a great torment. 189 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 190 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 191
