Couldst thou but see when the culprits shall hang their heads before their Lord, saying: our Lord! we have now seen and heard; so send us back; we shall work righteously, verily we are convinced. 12 If We had so willed, We could certainly have brought every soul its true guidance: but the Word from Me will come true, "I will fill Hell with Jinns and men all together." 13 Then taste you (the torment of the Fire) because of your forgetting the Meeting of this Day of yours, (and) surely! We too will forget you, so taste you the abiding torment for what you used to do. 14 None believes in Our Signs except those who, when they are given good counsel through Our verses, fall down prostrate and celebrate the praise of their Lord and do not wax proud. ۩ 15 Their sides stay detached from their beds and they pray to their Lord with fear and hope – and they spend from what We have bestowed upon them. 16 No soul knows what peace and joy lie hidden from them as reward for what they have done. 17 Is a believer equal to an evil-doer? They are not equal at all. 18 Those who accepted faith and did good deeds – for them are the Gardens of (everlasting) stay; a welcome in return for what they did. 19 But as for the ungodly, their refuge shall be the Fire; as often as they desire to come forth from it, they shall be restored into it, and it shall be said to them, 'Taste the chastisement of the Fire, which you cried lies to.' 20 But We will let them taste the nearest punishment (in this life) before the greater punishment, so that they may return (to faith). 21 And who does greater evil than he who is reminded of the signs of his Lord, then turns away from them? We shall take vengeance upon the sinners. 22
