54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

HaMeem. 1 THE BESTOWAL from on high [of this revelation] issues from the Most Gracious, the Dispenser of Grace: 2 A Book whereof the verses are detailed; an Arabic Qur'an, for a people who know. 3 good tidings to bear, and warning, but most of them have turned away, and do not give ear. 4 They say: “Our hearts are securely wrapped up against what you call us to, and in our ears is a heaviness, and between you and us there is a veil. So act; we too are acting.” 5 Say thou: I am only a human being like unto you; only it is revealed unto me that your God is but One God, wherefore take the straight path unto Him and seek forgiveness of Him. And woe be unto the associators. 6 (To) those who do not give poor-rate and they are unbelievers in the hereafter. 7 Indeed for those who believed and did good deeds, is a limitless reward. 8
