Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 By the night when it departs. 33 And the dawn when it shineth forth, 34 Lo! this is one of the greatest (portents) 35 A warning for people -- 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 Except those of the right hand 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 About the guilty: 41 'What caused you to be thrust into the Scorching (Fire)' 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 “And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly.” 45 And rejected the Day of Judgement as a lie 46 Till death overtook us. 47 Then there will not profit them intercesion of the interceders. 48 WHAT, THEN, is amiss with them that they turn away from all admonition 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 By no means. In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 and whoever wills may take it to heart. 55 And they will not receive admonition unless Allah wills; He (Allah) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilah (God) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives (sins). 56
