The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 It is the shining star -- 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 He was created of spurting water 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 not a flippant jest. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
