Do you not see that We have set the devils against the infidels to rouse and instigate them? 83 So hasten thou not against them; We are only numbering for them a number. 84 On the Day whereon We shall gather the God-feaing unto the Compassionate as an embassy. 85 And drive the guilty towards hell, thirsty. 86 They shall not own intercession, excepting those who have taken of the Compassionate a covenant. 87 And they say: "The Most Beneficent (Allah) has begotten a son (or offspring or children) [as the Jews say: 'Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allah, and the Christians say that He has begotten a son ['Iesa (Christ)], and the pagan Arabs say that He has begotten daughters (angels, etc.)]." 88 You have indeed advanced something hideous! 89 Which would cleave the skies asunder, rend the earth, and split the mountains, 90 that they have attributed to the All-merciful a son; 91 And it is not appropriate for the Most Merciful that He should take a son. 92 None there is in the heavens and the earth but must come unto the Compassionate as a bondman. 93 Verily, He knows each one of them, and has counted them a full counting. 94 and each one shall come to Him on the Day of Resurrection, alone. 95 Surely Ar-Rahman will show love for those who believe and do the right. 96 And We make (this Scripture) easy in thy tongue, (O Muhammad) only that thou mayst bear good tidings therewith unto those who ward off (evil), and warn therewith the froward folk. 97 And how many a generation We destroyed before them! Dost thou perceive so much as one of them, or hear of them a whisper? 98
