Victory (Al-Fatt-h)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Surely We have given thee a manifest victory, 1 so that Allah may forgive you your shortcomings, whether earlier or later, and may complete His favours upon you and guide you to the Straight Way, 2 And that Allah may help thee with powerful help. 3 It was He who sent down tranquility into the hearts of the believers so that they might add belief upon belief. To Allah belong the armies of the heavens and the earth. Allah is the Knower, the Wise. 4 He hath ordained war in order that He may cause the believing men and the believing women enter Gardens whereunder rivers flow, as abiders therein, and that He may expiate from them their misdeeds. And that is with Allah ever an achievement mighty. 5 And that He may punish the Munafiqun (hypocrites), men and women, and also the Mushrikun men and women, who think evil thoughts about Allah, for them is a disgraceful torment, and the Anger of Allah is upon them, and He has cursed them and prepared Hell for them, and worst indeed is that destination. 6 To Allah belong the armies of the heavens and the earth. Allah is the Almighty and the Wise. 7 Surely We have sent thee as a witness, good tidings to bear, and warning, 8 so that you may believe in God and His Messenger, and may help him, and honour him, and so that you may glorify God morning and evening. 9 Indeed, those who pledge allegiance to you, [O Muhammad] - they are actually pledging allegiance to Allah. The hand of Allah is over their hands. So he who breaks his word only breaks it to the detriment of himself. And he who fulfills that which he has promised Allah - He will give him a great reward. 10
