Q (Qaaf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Qaf. By the Qur'an glorious, We have sent thee as a warner. 1 Indeed, they are astonished that a warner should have come to them from among themselves. So these deniers of the truth say, "This is indeed a strange thing, 2 that after we die and become dust, we shall be brought back to life again. This seems far from reality". 3 Well do We know how the earth consumes their bodies, for with Us is a record unfailing. 4 Rather, they belied the truth when it came to them, and now they are in a state of confusion. 5 Have they not looked up to the heaven above them, in what wise We have constructed and bedecked it, and that therein is no rift? 6 (Have they not seen) how We have spread out the earth, placed on it firm mountains and have made all kinds of flourishing pairs of plants grow? 7 To be observed and commemorated by every devotee turning (to Allah). 8 And We send down from the cloud water abounding in good, then We cause to grow thereby gardens and the grain that is reaped, 9 And lofty date-palms with ranged clusters, 10 as a provision for human beings; and by [all] this We bring dead land to life. Such shall be the Resurrection. 11 Before them was denied (the Hereafter) by the People of Noah, the Companions of the Rass, the Thamud, 12 And (the tribe of) A'ad, and Pharaoh, and the brethren of Lot, 13 And the dwellers of the Wood, and the people of Tubba'; everyone of them denied (their) Messengers, so My Threat took effect. 14 Did We fail in the first creation? But they are in confusion over a new creation. 15
