Noah had verily called to Us. And how gracious was He who answered (him). 75 We saved him and his family from the great affliction, 76 And We preserved his descendants. 77 And left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations to come in later times: 78 Peace be unto Noah among the peoples! 79 That is how We recompense the righteous: 80 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ And indeed, among his kind was Abraham, 83 When he came to his Lord with a sound heart 84 and said to his father and his people: “Whom do you worship? 85 Is it false deities that you want to serve rather than Allah? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds?" 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars (to deceive them), 88 Then said: Lo! I feel sick! 89 So they turned away from him, departing. 90 Then he turned towards their gods and said: "Why do you not eat (of these offerings)? 91 What is the matter with you, why do you not speak?” 92 Then he started striking them down with his right hand. 93 [But] then the others came towards him hurriedly [and accused him of his deed]. 94 He said: 'Do you worship what you, yourselves have carved 95 when it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 They said, "Let us build a fire and throw him into the flames". 97 So they contrived a plot against him, but We made them abject. 98 He said: 'I will go to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 whereupon We gave him the glad tiding of a boy-child gentle [like himself]? 101 And when he attained the age of running with him, he said: O my son! verily I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering thee; so look, what considerest thou? He said: O my father! do that which thou art commanded; thou shalt find me, Allah willing, of the patients. 102 When they had surrendered, and he flung him upon his brow, 103 We called to him, "Abraham, 104 Of a surety thou hast fulfilled the vision. Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 105 Most surely this is a manifest trial. 106 So We ransomed him for a great sacrifice, 107 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 108 Peace be on Ibrahim. 109 This is how We reward the virtuous. 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 So We gave him the good news of Isaac, apostle, who is among the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among the offspring of the two some did good and some plainly wronged themselves. 113
