The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event comes, 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 (a calamitous Event) that shall turn things upside down: 3 When the earth is shaken up convulsively, 4 The mountains bruised and crushed, 5 they will become like dust scattered around. 6 On that day, you (mankind) will be divided into three groups: 7 (First) those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 8 And the Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand? 9 And those who surpassed have indeed excelled. 10 Who will be honoured 11 They will dwell in the Gardens of Bliss: 12 A numerous company from among the first, 13 and only a few of them from the later generations. 14 [They will be seated] on gold-encrusted thrones of happiness, 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 they will be waited on by ageless youths 17 With cups, and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine, 18 No after-ache will they receive therefrom, nor will they suffer intoxication: 19 and with fruit of any kind that they may choose, 20 And with flesh of fowls from that which they desire. 21 And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,- 22 beautiful as pearls hidden in their shells. 23 As recompense for all they had done. 24 They will hear no nonsense there or talk of sin, 25 except each other's greetings of, "Peace be with you". 26 The Companions of the Right 27 Amid thornless lote-trees, 28 and flower-clad acacias, 29 And in everlasting shade. 30 Gushing water, 31 And plenty of fruits. 32 never-ending and unforbidden. 33 And exalted thrones. 34 Verily We! We have created those maidens by a creation. 35 And have made them virgins. 36 Beloved (by nature), equal in age,- 37 for the Companions of the Right 38
