The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 The closing night, 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
