Al-Hijjr 3 of 6
Verily We created man of potter's clay of black mud altered, 26 while We had brought the jinn into being before out of blazing fire. 27 And when thy Lord said to the angels, 'See, I am creating a mortal of a clay of mud moulded. 28 Then when I have formed him and breathed into him of My Spirit fall down unto him prostrate. 29 The angels bowed in homage in a body 30 except Iblis; he refused to join those who prostrated. 31 "How is it, O Iblis," said (the Lord), "you did not join those who bowed in homage?" 32 He said, "Never would I prostrate to a human whom You created out of clay from an altered black mud." 33 God said, "Then get out of here; for you are accursed, 34 And indeed, upon you is the curse until the Day of Recompense." 35 He said, “My Lord! Grant me respite till the day when they will all be raised.” 36 (Allah) said: "Respite is granted thee 37 till the appointed time. 38 [Whereupon Iblis] said: "O my Sustainer! Since Thou hast thwarted me, I shall indeed make [all that is evil] on earth seem goodly to them, and shall most certainly beguile them - into grievous error 39 But not such of them as are Thy bondmen single-hearted. 40 Allah said: "Here is the path that leads straight to Me. 41 "For over My servants no authority shalt thou have, except such as put themselves in the wrong and follow thee." 42 Hell is the promised place for them all. 43 Which has several gates, and each gate is marked for every section of them." 44

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
