۞ And when the son of Mary was presented as an example, immediately your people laughed aloud. 57 and say: "Which is better - our deities or he?" [But] it is only in the spirit of dispute that they put this comparison before thee: yea, they are contentious folk! 58 He is purely a bondman (of Ours), whom We have favoured upon, and We made him an extraordinary example for the Descendants of Israel. 59 And if it were Our Will, We would have [destroyed you (mankind) all, and] made angels to replace you on the earth. This is a straight path; 61 And let not Satan bar you [from it] - for, verily, he is your open foe! 62 And when 'Iesa (Jesus) came with (Our) clear Proofs, he said: "I have come to you with Al-Hikmah (Prophethood), and in order to make clear to you some of the (points) in which you differ, therefore fear Allah and obey me, 63 "For Allah, He is my Lord and your Lord: so worship ye Him: this is a Straight Way." 64 But sects from among themselves fell into disagreement: then woe to the wrong-doers, from the Penalty of a Grievous Day! 65 Are they waiting except for the Hour to come upon them suddenly while they perceive not? 66 The intimate friends on that Day will be hostile unto one another save the God-fearing. 67
