The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Prosperous are the believers, 1 those who humble themselves in their prayer, 2 and who turn away from all that is frivolous, 3 And they who are observant of zakah 4 And who guard their private organs. 5 Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame; 6 but those who seek to go beyond that are transgressors -- 7 and who are faithful to their trusts and to their pledges, 8 and those who attend to their prayers; 9 These are the real gainers, 10 Who will inherit al-Firdaus. They will abide therein eternally. 11 We created the human from an essence of clay: 12 Then We placed him as a sperm-drop in a firm lodging. 13 and then We create out of the drop of sperm a germ-cell, and then We create out of the germ-cell an embryonic lump, and then We create within the embryonic lump bones, and then We clothe the bones with flesh - and then We bring [all] this into being as a new creation: hallowed, therefore, is God, the best of artisans! 14 Then after that, certainly all of you are to die. 15 Then you will all be raised on the Day of Resurrection. 16 We have created seven paths above you; We have never been unmindful of Our creation. 17 And We sent down from the sky water (rain) in (due) measure, and We gave it lodging in the earth, and verily, We are Able to take it away. 18 Then We produced for you therewith gardens of palms and vines wherein are many fruits for you, and of them you eat, 19 And We also produced the tree which springs forth from Mount Sinai, containing oil and sauce for those that eat. 20 There are lessons for you in the cattle from whose bellies We give you milk to drink, and there are other advantages that you derive from them, and some of them you eat; 21 And upon them and on ships you are carried. 22
