Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the loosed ones successively 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 separating one from another, 4 And those that bring down the Reminder 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 For a known term? 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 On that day they will not be able to speak, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
