The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to the stinters; 1 who demand of other people full measure for themselves, 2 but when they give by measurement or weight to others, they give them less. 3 What! Do they not expect that they will be raised? 4 (To be raised) for a Great Day? 5 The day on which men shall stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 Nay! Surely the record of the wicked is (preserved) in Sijjin. 7 Would that you knew what Sijin is!? 8 (It is) a marked Book. 9 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 10 those who give the lie to the [coming of] Judgment Day: 11 No one rejects it except the sinful transgressors 12 When our signs are recited to him, he says, 'Fairy-tales of the ancients!' 13 Nay! rather, what they used to do has become like rust upon their hearts. 14 Nay! Surely, they (evil-doers) will be veiled from seeing their Lord that Day. 15 Then they shall roast in Hell, 16 Further, it will be said to them: "This is the (reality) which ye rejected as false! 17 No indeed; the book of the pious is in Illiyun; 18 and what shall teach thee what is Illiyun? 19 A written record, 20 Which is witnessed by those brought near [to Allah]. 21 Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. 22 On couches, gazing, 23 and in their faces you shall know the radiance of bliss. 24 They will be served a drink of the finest sealed wine, 25 The seal thereof will be Musk: And for this let those aspire, who have aspirations: 26 And mixed with water of Tasnim, 27 a fountain at which the chosen ones shall drink. 28 Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. 29 when they passed by them they winked, 30 And when they returned to their own followers they returned exulting. 31 And when they saw them they said: Lo! these have gone astray. 32 Yet they were not sent as watchers over them. 33 Wherefore Today, those who believed at the infidels are laughing, 34 On high couches, gazing. 35 Surely the disbelievers are rewarded as they did. 36
