Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

The mutual rivalry for piling up of worldly things diverts you, 1 Until you visit the graves (i.e. till you die). 2 But nay, ye soon shall know (the reality). 3 Nay! Nay! you shall soon know. 4 No indeed; did you know with the knowledge of certainty, 5 For ye will behold hell-fire. 6 Again, you shall surely see it with the sight of certainty. 7 Then, on that day, ye will be asked concerning pleasure. 8

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
