The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 This is the Book (the Quran), whereof there is no doubt, a guidance to those who are Al-Muttaqun [the pious and righteous persons who fear Allah much (abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds which He has forbidden) and love Allah much (perform all kinds of good deeds which He has ordained)]. 2 Who believe in the Unseen, are steadfast in prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them; 3 those who believe in the revelation sent down to you and in what was sent before you, and firmly believe in the life to come -- 4 These are on a right course from their Lord and these it is that shall be successful. 5 As for the Disbelievers, Whether thou warn them or thou warn them not it is all one for them; they believe not. 6 Allah has set a seal upon their hearts and upon their hearing and there is a covering over their eyes, and there is a great punishment for them. 7
