And this (Qur'an) is a revelation from the Lord of all the worlds, 192 Which the trusted spirit descended with 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayst be (one) of the warners, 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 And indeed it is mentioned in the earlier Books. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned men of the Israelites know it? 197 And if we had revealed it to any of the foreigners 198 And he had read it unto them, even then they would not have been believers therein. 199 Thus have We caused this [message] to pass [unheeded] through the hearts of those who are lost in sin: 200 They will not believe in it until they clearly see the grievous chastisement. 201 so that it will come upon them suddenly, while they are not aware, 202 Then they will say: are we to be respited? 203 What, do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 204 Do you not see that even if We give them respite for years 205 And afterwards comes to them that (punishment) which they had been promised! 206 All that with which they used to enjoy shall not avail them. 207 And never did We destroy a township, but it had its warners 208 as a reminder from Us: We are never unjust. 209 And the Shaitans have not come down with it. 210 they are not supposed to do so. Nor do have they the ability for such a task. 211 Indeed they have been removed far from even (a chance of) hearing it. 212 Therefor invoke not with Allah another god, lest thou be one of the doomed. 213 And warn your tribe (O Muhammad SAW) of near kindred. 214 and lower your wing to the believers who follow you. 215 If they disobey you, tell them, "I condemn your disobedient deeds". 216 And put thy trust on the Exalted in Might, the Merciful,- 217 Who sees you when you arise 218 and [sees] thy behaviour among those who prostrate themselves [before Him]: 219 Indeed only He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 220 Should I tell you to whom the satans come? 221 They descend on every lying (one who tells lies), sinful person. 222 who readily lend ear [to every falsehood,] and most of whom lie to others as well. 223 Poets are followed by the perverse. 224 See you not that they speak about every subject (praising others right or wrong) in their poetry? 225 and say things which they do not act upon, 226 Except those who believe, work righteousness, engage much in the remembrance of Allah, and defend themselves only after they are unjustly attacked. And soon will the unjust assailants know what vicissitudes their affairs will take! 227
