NOW, VERILY, it is We who have created man, and We know what his innermost self whispers within him: for We are closer to him than his neck-vein. 16 Since the two scribes are sitting on each of his shoulders, he does not utter a word which is not recorded immediately by the watchful scribes. 17 The human being will certainly experience the agony of death 18 And the agony of death cometh in truth. (And it is said unto him): This is that which thou wast wont to shun. 19 And the trumpet blast will sound: It would be the Day of Doom. 20 And every soul shall come, and with it a driver and a witness. 21 (He will be told), "You were completely heedless of this day. We have removed the veil from your eyes and your vision will now be sharp and strong". 22 His companion attendant will say, "I have here his record ready." 23 (The sentence will be:) "Throw, throw into Hell every contumacious Rejecter (of Allah)!- 24 "Who forbade what was good, transgressed all bounds, cast doubts and suspicions; 25 Who made [as equal] with Allah another deity; then throw him into the severe punishment." 26 ۞ and his associate [Satan] will say, "Lord, I did not make him transgress, he had already gone far astray himself." 27 God will say, "Do not quarrel in My presence. I gave you the warning beforehand 28 “With Me, the decree does not change, and nor do I oppress the bondmen.” 29
