Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Some faces on that Day will be fresh and resplendent, 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
