The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Of what do they ask one another? 1 About the Great News 2 on which they [so utterly] disagree. 3 Nay! they shall soon come to know 4 Then, no! They are going to know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a bed, 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 And We have created you in pairs, 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 And have appointed the night as a cloak, 10 And We have made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 Have We not made seven strong heavens above you, 12 And placed a lamp therein brightly burning. 13 And then sent down hard rain from the water bearing clouds. 14 so that We might bring forth thereby grain, and herbs, 15 and gardens dense with foliage? 16 Surely, the Day of Judgement has an appointed time. 17 The day when the Trumpet will be blown – you will therefore come forth in multitudes. 18 The heavens will have openings like doors. 19 and the mountains shall be made to vanish, as if they had been a mirage. 20 Surely the Hell is an ambush, 21 It will be a place of return 22 Living therein for ages. 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold, 25 as a fitting recompense for their deeds. 26 For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. 27 But they (impudently) treated Our Signs as false. 28 But all things We have enumerated in writing. 29 So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. 30
