And remember Our bondman Ayyub (Job); when he cried out* to his Lord, “The devil has struck me with hardship and pain.” (After seven years of patience.) 41 (And it was said unto him): Strike the ground with thy foot. This (spring) is a cool bath and a refreshing drink. 42 We gave him back his family and doubled their number as a blessing from Us and as a reminder to the people of understanding. 43 We told him, "Take a handful of straw. Strike your wife with it to fulfill your oath." We found him to be patient. What an excellent servant he was. He was certainly most repenting. 44 Remember Our servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob -- possessors of strength and vision. 45 Assuredly We purified them with a quality most pure, the remembrance of the Abode, 46 And indeed they are, to Us, among the chosen and outstanding. 47 And remember Ismail and Al-Yasha and Zulkifl; and they were all of the best. 48 This is a Message (of admonition): and verily, for the righteous, is a beautiful Place of (Final) Return,- 49 the Gardens of eternity with gates thrown wide open to them. 50 Therein will they recline (at ease): Therein can they call (at pleasure) for fruit in abundance, and (delicious) drink; 51 ۞ With companions of modest look, the same in age, by their side. 52 'This is what you were promised for the Day of Reckoning; 53 this is Our provision, unto which there is no end.' 54 All this [for the righteous]: but, verily, the most evil of all goals awaits those who are wont to transgress the bounds of what is right: 55 hell will they have to endure - and how vile a resting-place! 56 This, [then, for them] so let them taste it: burning despair and ice-cold darkness 57 And other [punishments] of its type [in various] kinds. 58 (We shall say to their leaders): 'This is a troop rushing in with you, there is no welcome for them, they shall roast in the Fire' 59 (The followers shall cry to the misleaders:) "Nay, ye (too)! No welcome for you! It is ye who have brought this upon us! Now evil is (this) place to stay in!" 60 They say: Our Lord! Whoever did prepare this for us, oh, give him double portion of the Fire! 61 And they say, “What is the matter with us that we do not see the men whom we thought were evil?” 62 Have we taken them in mockery? Or, have our eyes swerved from them?' 63 Indeed, that is truth - the quarreling of the people of the Fire. 64
